Land-based Engineering
Darrell Collins, NVQ student, Warwickshire College

My family farms 32 hectares at Croughton, Oxfordshire, but with such a small hectarage I saw little future for myself in farming and decided to join my my father and uncle in the family agricultural engineering business.

I began my training at Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire College with a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Agricultural Engineering and am now taking my NVQ Level 3. The course is great; the facilities at Moreton Morrell have improved considerably thanks to the opening of new, well-equipped workshops and the teaching is good.

In the future I would like to go into design, research, or field testing with a large company.
