Farriery
What is farriery?
Farriery is concerned with the shoeing of horses and other animals. A farrier is a skilled craftsperson who makes shoes for all types of horses’ and animals’ feet, according to the needs and welfare of the animal.
Farriers are increasingly becoming involved in remedial work with veterinary surgeons and equine hospitals, providing corrective shoeing and surgical farriery. The industry contributes an estimated £100 million to the UK economy.
